Abstract

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 imposed drastic changes in society in general, and in education in particular. However, university students pronounced themselves as protagonists of different tasks that guaranteed social functioning in these complex circumstances. The integral formation of the students of four careers of the University of Matanzas, during the community research, was the objective of this article. The documentary analysis of regulations, study plans, subject programs; as well as the exchange of experts from each career group led to the design of observation instruments, work guides and surveys, which linked the demands of the Primary Health Care System (SAP) with indicators and questions linked to the general objectives of the selected content. The identification of individual health status and comorbidities in population groups was complemented with data processing, situational diagnoses, the coordination of cost centers associated with pandemic management, training in legal instruments that protect citizens in conditions of vulnerability, as well as the design of communication products for health promotion in the popular council of Versalles, Matanzas municipality.
