The socioformation. An integrative approach to competencies in Higher Education

The objective of the article is focused on reflecting on competencies as an innovative paradigm in Higher Education Institutions, which obeys the international demand to train competent professionals in the personal, professional and social spheres. It is used, among others, the method of documentary analysis, and the synthetic analytical procedure. An analysis is carried out from a socioformative perspective, an approach based on constructivism and complex thinking, trying to cover the gaps existing in the other competence approaches, in addition to having their distinctive characteristics to determine competences.
