Knowledge management: a priority for medical training in the 21st century

Objective: to present the conceptual determination on Knowledge Management (KM) required by the course of the investigation. Methods: A qualitative approach is followed with the application of Conceptual Cartography to carry out the review and analysis of the information. Results: Almost 300 definitions about Knowledge Management were processed, they were submitted to analysis and we worked with 20 of them. The processing carried out led to the establishment of a concept in correspondence with the objective. Conclusions: KM is identified as an emerging discipline, with a strategic and procedural nature, which uses the knowledge generated in a structured and systematic way in order to satisfy individual and collective needs.
