Abstract

This paper argues the educative importance of the theater workshop in Cuban elementary schools, departing from an ample systematization of what several authors have stated on the topic, and out of the experience and research results of the author as a trainer of art instructors. Such artistic workshop, integrative as it is, if conceived and managed from a conception of a playful-developmental school theater artistic education, and aiming at personality growing, becomes an excellent context for an all-around formation, and especially for the formation of active and reflexive preadolescents (5th and 6th grades). Because of all this, the paper defends that educative projects in elementary schools should include this kind of workshops.
