Teaching Skills Program for Pre-professional Practice in Basic Education Students

In this article, the issue of teaching competency programs for pre-professional practice was addressed, for which the objective was to identify the need for a teaching competency program for pre-professional practice in students of the Basic Education major. The research was cross-sectional descriptive, for which statistical tables were made with different sets of data obtained from the application of a survey with a Likert scale applied to 30 students, who constituted the random type sample. The main results suggest that there is a strong demand from Basic Education students for a teaching skills program for pre-professional practices, which would have a positive impact on their training as teachers. Therefore, it is concluded that said program is very useful for the training of students in the career of, since it would allow to improve their preparation for the exercise of teaching and ensure the relevance of the contents addressed, being necessary for UNAE to consider the implementation of this type of programs to guarantee a more complete and appropriate training for future teachers.
