Abstract

In the last thirty years, different policies of accountability and quality assurance have been implemented. The life of institutions of higher education, which seek to join the circuit of excellence, are organized by rules of competence and standards. A discursive analysis with an emphasis on politics allows us to argue that educational quality emerged as a disruptive force of power in the Latin American region and has settled by a system of institutional violence and global policies.
