Distance learning in Postgraduate in Mexico

Abstract

In Mexico, higher education studies is a privilege, a large number of students who are in the corresponding age category are excluded. Due higher education is at the top of the educational pyramid represents greater difficulty of access. This article pretends to show the problems associated with study possibilities related to a postgraduate degree in Mexico, especially if referes a high quality postgraduate courses, because of different requirements that they demand, which makes highly complex to attend these studies for those interested in them, reason why distance learning is proposed as a viable mechanism capable of increasing the possibilities of inclusion of a greater number of students. The methodology used is qualitative-interpretative nature, based mainly on documentary review and in-depth interviews with teachers in the country with experience in distance teaching. With this material is carried out a critical interpretative and propositional analysis. This work allows us to conclude that despite the problems that the implementation of the distance modality in the postgraduate course could represent, it is possible, but depends on the circumstances of the context.
