Abstract

Four options multiple choice questions are mainly used in grade and post grade medicine education, nevertheless they are said to have limitations such as not being able to evaluate high divergent thinking linked to verbs of superior taxonomic level. The aim of this article is to manage the production of superior divergent high thinking in Bioethics in medicine students classified according Kolb styles of learning by using an extra blank space in multiple choice questions. A total of 277 medicine students were classified according to Kolb`s Styles of Learning Theory, these students were submitted to multiple choice questions with a blank space during a semester. Divergent students used the blank space mainly for expressing high thinking ideas the rest of the students used the blank space mostly to improve the answer and get a bonus.
