Abstract

It's over a decade in Mexico that tutoring for undergraduate education is seen as a basic tool for students in achieving academic success. Thanks to this tutorial program undergraduate education institutes have been invited to implement it inside their schools and faculties. The national association of universities and undergraduate education institutes have also recommended and try to include this program in their resumes. This means that the tutorial program would be deemed of parallel importance to the regular academic programs and plans, keeping in mind the fulfillment of the objective. The tutor is of the utmost importance to the development of the tutorial program. Therefore, during this lecture we review its importance and different conceptions that exist about it, in order to highlight the proper and complete understanding of its significance, due to the high impact it can provide.
