Interpretive practices and the teaching of the arts in museums

Interpretation of the heritage of the place helps to understand the cultural legacy and the promotion of productive and appreciative artistic processes in a non-school educational context. Consequently, the intend of this article is to illuminate the results attained in the Plastic Arts Workshop that was held at the Museum of Arts in Matanzas. The qualitative methodology was used together with the analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive methods. Document analysis, observation, interview, and participatory techniques were also among the other methodologies used. The study covers from the vision of art that is focused on the representation to the symbolism that the works represent based on their experiences. In conclusion, the contribution of the interpretive practices in the teaching -learning of the arts is reflected through the collections in the museum mentioned.
