Abstract

Scientific research and results in the context of medical training do not frequently address professional teaching performance, which is why this research has the general objective of characterizing the professional performance of the teaching physician in the Internal Medicine subject, which allows identifying opportunities for improving the quality of the educational teaching process at the University of Medical Sciences. Methods of the theoretical level were used, such as the historical - logical, the analytical - synthetic, the inductive - deductive and modeling, and among the empirical methods, observation, the survey and the interview with teaching physicians. The application of these methods allowed the development of the research, the result of which became a characterization of the current state of the professional performance of the teaching doctor in the Internal Medicine subject of the Comandante Faustino Pérez de Matanzas University Hospital. This result contributes to the improvement of the professional performance of the teaching physician in the Internal Medicine subject
