Abstract

The following research aimed to analyze the academic stress of fourth semester students of the Colegio de Bachilleres de Chiapas, campus 13, the study was descriptive-interpretative, using as an instrument the SISCO SV-21 Inventory in its second version of Barraza (2018) and as a survey technique, obtaining as a result that students present moderate stress levels, it was also found that the main factors of academic stress are taking exams and overload of tasks and schoolwork; on the other hand, the symptoms that occur most frequently are drowsiness or greater need to sleep, scratching, nail biting, rubbing, and restlessness; Finally, the main coping strategy is listening to music or watching television, leading to the conclusion that there are few situations and symptoms that occur due to a lack of coping strategies. Therefore, it is important to carry out a pedagogical intervention focused on task planning, proposing new forms of evaluation and teaching emotional control to avoid disorders that can affect the mental health of students such as depression and anxiety.
